Many changes have happened in Central Europe in the 17 years since the fall of communism.  Many young people have no conscious memory of communism but struggle everyday with the temptations of consumerism. Most Central European countries are now part of the European Union – travel and work opportunities have changed. At present, our ministry has been focused on people coming to us within one city but there are many open doors in other areas beyondBratislava. People have less time and we need to be more flexible. In the future, we will be taking the Learning Community ideas to where the demand is greatest and where God is producing the most fruit in our ministry.

In the last 5 years we have been developing and testing the biblical ideas at the heart of our ministry. These help people understand that God is the source and centre of reality. They help answer the questions our audiences ask about the meaning of the gospel and how Christians should honour God’s name in the society in which they live. 

While our vision, purpose, ideas and methods remain the same, we have made a decision to focus on spreading our ideas in a wider geographical context. For this to happen we will need to make some significant changes.

We will concentrate our activities on:

• holding learning communities in partnership with churches and ministries over a wider geographical area.
• teaching others to use the ideas, learning tools and methods
• developing new materials that respond to the changing times
• Marsh and Tuula will be relocating to the UK in 2008 from where they will travel to Central and Eastern Europe to hold learning communities and teach the ideas and methods.
• We will be reviewing our Learning Community activities in Bratislava in October 2007 to see if we have the capacity to continue them.
• We will no longer be involved in developing publishing activities.
• We are changing our name to CityGate.
