From CEMF to SEN to CityGate

A name is a cup full of meanings; a short form for all our attributes and actions.

When we first began the Iron Curtain was firmly intact and we were called  "The Central European Missionary Fellowship" (CEMF). We were based in Baden-bei-Wien in Austria and travelled backward and forward. First registered in the UK and then in the USA. Then, in 1992, we moved to Slovakia in order to experience first hand the transition from Communism to a new and very unstable reality but also to be near Vienna airport because we were travelling all over Central Europe and Russia. SEN was started as a Slovak Charity to legalize our activities. SEN means to dream. Back in 1992 there was a lot to dream about and many hopes. Now is the time to be a bit more specific!

Now it is 2007, The "Iron Curtain" is a distant memory. Consumerism is the "spirit" of the age.

Our new name is CityGate. The meaning remains the same.

Helping people bridge the gap between the reality of Christ and everyday life.
