The Cafe Now and Not Yet

The Cafe "Now and Not Yet" is an exercise which awakens the moral imagination; to help us become aware of the reality of the good reign of Christ - who is he and what does he intend for us. He offers us the riches of eternity. This is not just a quantity of life but a quality of life. How can we, who know so little about what is really good learn to imagine the goodness the Christ offers.

The author of the book of Hebrews writes of Christ  "who for the joy before him endured the cross". Every decision we make is in some sense economic. Is this worth that? It the price worth the product? Is the sacrifice worth the benefit? Christ knew the glory to come and gave himself for us. If we do not have a clear idea of what is coming then the shopping mall will always provide immediate gratification to still eternal hungers but this is to short change ourselves. A clearer understanding of the glory to come will help us choose well in the daily decisions of life. It will help us love what is good and learn to hate well what is evil. It will humble us in our repentance and give us awe in our worship.
