Practical Application of the Reality of Christ Bearing our Sins |

We recognize the reality that Christ is our scapegoat. He has carried away both our sin and the sins of all believers, even those who sin against us. This requires of us that we have hearts of forgiveness towards each other and humility and gratitude towards Him. It requires us to recognize our own sin when we are confronted with the sins of others. Thus, resisting and avoiding judgementalism and a critical spirit, it CityGate Consensus 3.9 Page 19 14/03/2007 requires of us that we do not hold up in public the sins of others for which Christ died, that we treat each other with respect and dignity, while at the same time we hold one other accountable for behaviour and attitudes.
